The Hours of the Day, in a Slightly Different Way

"Shichen", or Long Hours
The Chinese zodiac breaks the day into 12 two-hour periods instead of 24 of the one-hour variety. These 12 two-hour time periods are called shichen, or "long hours."
Each shichen corresponds to one of the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac. For a little fun and to stimulate curiosity in a traditional Chinese geomantic perspective, each of the class descriptions includes reference to the corresponding zodiac animal and its conceived impact on the timing of our classes.
Shichen: Rabbit 5-7AM (Emotionally Controlled), Dragon 7-9AM (Charismatic), Snake 9-11AM (Self Reliant), Horse 11AM-1PM (Independent), Goat or Ram 1-3PM (Cunning), Monkey 3-5PM (Clever), Rooster 5-7PM (Blunt), Dog 7-9PM (Principled), Pig 9-11PM (Well Loved), Rat 11-1AM (Astute), Ox 1-3AM (Consistent), Tiger 3-5AM (Imaginative)
